Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The International Journal of Bioelectronics (IJBIOE) adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal follows the principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure transparency, fairness, and academic honesty throughout the publication process.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts represent original work that has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere. All authors must have made a significant contribution to the research and approve the final version of the manuscript. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be provided, and all relevant sources should be appropriately cited.

Authors are required to disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be perceived as potential conflicts of interest. In cases involving human or animal subjects, authors must confirm that the study was conducted in accordance with relevant ethical standards and that approval was obtained from an appropriate ethics committee.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

The Editor-in-Chief and members of the Editorial Board are responsible for making publication decisions based on the significance, originality, clarity, and scientific merit of the submitted work, as well as its relevance to the scope of the journal. Editorial decisions are made without regard to the authors’ race, gender, affiliation, nationality, or political views.

Editors must ensure the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and may not disclose any information about a submission to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or editorial staff as appropriate. Editors will actively investigate any suspicion of misconduct and take appropriate corrective measures when necessary.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the quality of the journal through the double-blind peer review process. They are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback on the scholarly merit of the manuscript.

Reviewers must keep all materials confidential and must not use unpublished data from submitted manuscripts for their own research. If a reviewer feels unqualified to evaluate a manuscript or detects any potential conflict of interest, they should immediately inform the Editor-in-Chief.

4. Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

The International Journal of Bioelectronics (IJBIOE) employs plagiarism detection tools to verify the originality of all submissions. Any form of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research behavior will result in the rejection or retraction of the article. Cases of proven misconduct will be handled in accordance with COPE recommendations and may lead to the notification of the authors’ institutions.

5. Retraction Policy

Articles may be retracted if they are found to contain major errors, fraudulent data, or ethical violations that invalidate the results or conclusions. A retraction notice will be published on the journal website, clearly indicating the reason for retraction and maintaining transparency for readers and researchers.

6. Data Sharing and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to make their data available to support reproducibility and transparency. When applicable, datasets should be deposited in recognized open-access repositories and properly referenced within the manuscript.

7. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

All parties involved in the publication process—authors, reviewers, and editors— must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could influence their objectivity or be perceived as conflicts of interest.

8. Policy on Corrections

If an error is discovered after publication, authors should promptly notify the Editorial Office to request a correction or erratum. The journal reserves the right to issue editorial corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions in order to preserve the integrity of the scientific record.

9. Statement on Human and Animal Rights

Research involving human participants must comply with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Studies involving animals must adhere to institutional and national guidelines for animal care and use. Authors should explicitly state in the manuscript that ethical approval was obtained.

10. Policy on AI-Generated Content

The International Journal of Bioelectronics (IJBIOE) does not accept manuscripts in which artificial intelligence (AI) tools are listed as authors. Authors who use AI-assisted technologies (e.g., language editing or image enhancement) must clearly disclose their use in the Methods or Acknowledgments section and remain fully responsible for the content of the manuscript.

11. Editorial Independence

The editorial team maintains complete independence from sponsors, advertisers, or affiliated organizations. Decisions regarding publication are based solely on academic merit and the quality of the research.

12. Reporting Misconduct

Any concerns or allegations of misconduct may be reported confidentially to the Editorial Office at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The journal will take all necessary actions in accordance with COPE guidelines.

By submitting a manuscript to the International Journal of Bioelectronics (IJBIOE), authors agree to abide by the ethical principles and publication standards outlined in this statement.
